On April 5, Red Velvet Wendy officially made her solo debut with a mini-album titled "LIKE WATER." On the same day, the album reached the top of iTunes Top Album charts in multiple countries, achieving the most No. 1s for female K-pop soloists.

Wendy is the first Red Velvet member to debut as a solo artist. "LIKE WATER" is her first official solo release in almost seven years since she debuted as a member of the girl group in August 2014.

Wendy's solo debut album "LIKE WATER" features five songs including the two title tracks "Like Water" and "When This Rain Stops."

Following the release of Wendy's "LIKE WATER," the solo album made its way to the top of iTunes Top Album charts in different countries all over the world. The album hit No. 1 in a total of 30 regions including the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Thailand, Costa Rica, Peru, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines, and many more.

This means, Wendy has achieved a total of 30 No. 1s on iTunes Top Album chart. With this, Wendy has set a new record for female K-pop soloists in terms of having the most No. 1s on the said chart.

In January last year, Girls' Generation Taeyeon became the first female K-pop solo artist to rank first on iTunes Top Album charts in a total of 24 countries with her repackaged album "Purpose." She was the female soloist with the most No. 1s at that time.

Other than that, Red Velvet Wendy placed first on the worldwide iTunes Top Album chart with "LIKE WATER." Wendy is now the fifth female K-pop soloist to obtain this milestone, following Chungha, Hwasa, HyunA, and Lee Hi.

Wendy's solo debut album has also topped the domestic daily albums charts such as Hanteo Chart and Yes24. "LIKE WATER also debuted at No. 43 on the worldwide Apple Music Top Album chart.

All tracks in the album entered the worldwide iTunes Top Songs Chart as well. As of writing, "Like Water" is at No. 21, "When This Rain Stops" at No. 60, "Best Friend" at No. 73, "Why Can't You Love Me" at No. 117, and "The Road" at No. 120.

Furthermore, Red Velvet Wendy entered the Global Digital Artist Rankings, claiming the No. 10 position. She is the third Red Velvet member to do so, following Irene and Seulgi as a sub-unit. Additionally, she is the fifth female K-pop soloist overall to enter the top 10 of the chart, including IU and BLACKPINK Rosé.

Meanwhile, Wendy's "LIKE WATER" is now the fifth solo album with the highest album sales on the first day. As of April 6 at noon KST, the album has sold 70,487 copies since release.

Wendy now joins BLACKPINK Rosé, IU, and Girls' Generation Taeyeon with the most album sales for female K-pop soloists.
