WJSN Successfully Completes First Week of 'Unnatural' Promotion
Fresh from the first salvo of their promotional activities, girl group WJSN (Cosmic Girls) successfully made its comeback for their ninth mini-album "UNNATURAL."
The Cosmic Girls launched their latest album "Unnatural" last March 31, ending the nine-month gap since their last album. Since its month-end release, the ten-member WJSN - Bona, Yeoreum, Dawon, Dayoung, Exy, Luda, Soobin, Yeonjung, Eunseo, and Seola - has performed the title track of the same title, as well as other songs from the album, on music shows including KBS2's "Music Bank" on April 2 and SBS "Inkigayo" on April 4.
For their "Music Bank" special stage, the girls wore their iconic red and black outfits on an ornately designed golden stage. As the intro for "Unnatural" rolled in, each member was given a close-up shot, further emphasizing their amazing visual. The aesthetic of black and red outfits, contrasting with the gold and white background, gives off an aura of sophistication and class, consistent with all the promotional materials released for the mini-album so far.
Even with all ten members on stage, their maturity and confidence radiate both in individual closeups and the group shots, showing the members' synchronized choreography. The "Music Bank" performance reaches its climax at the last chorus as gold confetti rain down on the Cosmic Girls.
On the other hand, their April 4 appearance at SBS' Inkigayo was opened with the new fan chant for "Unnatural." The Cosmic Girls appear in white and gold outfits against an elegant background of silver installations accentuated by digital backgrounds that has a simpler yet appealing feel. Fan chants for the track also bring a new layer to the performance, making the WJSN Inkigayo stage feel more interactive.
"Unnatural," the lead single for the latest WJSN mini-album, describes how a girl tries to look indifferent, pretending like nothing's wrong when actually, she no longer knows what to do. It captures the struggles of trying to act normally, only for things to turn out awkward in front of that special someone.
Following their first week of comeback for "Unnatural," Cosmic Girls will continue their promotional activities and will appear in different music shows as well as various online content.
