BLACKPINK, TWICE, and More: These are the Best-Selling Albums From Third Generation K-Pop Girl Groups
The third generation of K-pop started in 2011 and ended in 2018. It is the generation where most big K-pop groups debuted and when a number of people got into the genre.

BLACKPINK's "THE ALBUM" is the Best-Selling K-Pop Girl Group Album of All Time
Ranking at number one is BLACKPINK's first-ever full-length "THE ALBUM," which was released on Oct. 2, 2020.
According to Gaon, "THE ALBUM" has sold 1,360,067 copies. On Oct. 26, 2020, it was announced that "THE ALBUM" sold old 1.2 million copies worldwide, breaking S.E.S's 21-year-old record of the best-selling album by a K-pop girl group.
On Dec. 10, 2020, Gaon Chart announced that "THE ALBUM" was the best-selling girl group album in South Korean history, selling over a million copies in South Korea and beating The Pearl Sister's "My Dear," which was released in 1968.
Previously, on Sept. 4, YG Entertainment announced that "THE ALBUM" has amassed more than 800,000 pre-orders just six days after the opening of pre-orders.
According to the label, the number of pre-orders in South Korea surpassed 530,000, while pre-orders from the United States and Europe amounted to 270,000 units.
On the day of the album's release, "THE ALBUM" surpassed one million pre-orders, making it their second time to pass this mark.
TWICE's "More & More" is the Second Best-Selling K-Pop Girl Group Album of All Time
Following after BLACKPINK's "THE ALBUM" is TWICE's ninth mini-album, "More & More." According to Gaon, the mini-album has sold 583,905 copies.
Back on Jul. 2, 2020, it was announced by Gaon that "More & More" surpassed 563,000 copies in shipments, making it TWICE's best-selling album to date.
At the time, it broke Gaon Chart History for the highest album sales volume by a girl group.
On May 27, 2020, JYP Entertainment announced that the pre-order sales of "More & More" had surpassed 500,000 copies. This makes TWICE an official half-million seller and marked "More & More" as TWICE's best-selling release.
Within the first day, Hanteo reported that over 260,000 copies of "More & More" were sold, meaning at the time, TWICE had broken the record for the highest first-day sales for a K-pop girl group.
