AB6IX Reveals New Song 'GEMINI', Marks Second UNIVERSE Music Release for May
AB6IX confirms their new release with the full schedule for "GEMINI," which also marks the second UNIVERSE Music track for May 2021.
On May 15, NCSoft and Klap announced their plans to release the AB6IX track "GEMINI" on May 24, 6:00 p.m. KST.
Together with the announcement, the developers of the UNIVERSE K-pop fan interaction platform released the full schedule and the cover art for the upcoming track through the UNIVERSE app and its social networking sites (SNS).
The "GEMINI" promotion schedule began on May 16, Sunday, with the release of the concept photos that features the four members - Woong, Donghyun, Woojin, and Daehwi - in cool and hip black outfits set against a softly-lit room with shades of red illuminating their visuals.
It will be followed by the release of their "Concept Trailer: Savior" on Monday (May 17), then the first music video teaser tagged "Journey Ver." on Wednesday (May 19), and finally the "Starlight Ver." of the teaser on Friday (May 21).
After the weekend, UNIVERSE Music and AB6IX will officially release "GEMINI," with its digital track being made available across major music streaming sites and the official music video being an exclusive content watchable through the UNIVERSE app.
AB6IX and "GEMINI" marks the sixth release under the UNIVERSE Music platform, and is the second for May 2021 following Kang Daniel's "Outerspace (feat. Loco)."
As a part of its commitment to bring original and exclusive content to the newest K-pop fan interaction platform, UNIVERSE kicked off its music series with IZ*ONE's "D-D-Dance" last January and has seen one new single released every month from the artists affiliated with the platform.
It was followed by Jo Sumi and Rain's "Guardians" in February, Park Ji Hoon's "Call U Up (feat. LeeHi) in March, and (G)I-DLE's "Last Dance (Prod. GroovyRoom)" in April.

Since the group debuted on May 22, 2019, AB6IX has made a strong presence in the K-Pop industry as among the rare idols who are hands-on and actively participating in the composition, writing, and production of their songs.
Their first EP, "B Complete," also showed promise as it toped the South Korean Gaon Album Charts as well as the Japanese Oricon Albums Charts.
Additionally, its title track "Breathe" earned the then-rookies their consecutive music show wins at the SBS MTV program "The Show" and the MBC program "Show Champion" the following day.

As part of the UNIVERSE platform, AB6IX has previously hosted a Pajama Party, an exclusive fan event for their fanbase. The event, held last April 3, 6:00 p.m. KST, allowed the members to stay in touch with their beloved ABNEW despite the restrictions on travel and in-person events.
Aside from performing and answering fan questions, 120 lucky ABNEW had the chance to go on a 1 on 1 video call with the AB6IX member of their choosing.
