Right Before the Big Day: MONSTA X Drops Tense 'GAMBLER' MV Teaser
A day before their official comeback, MONSTA X masterfully raises the stakes with a glimpse of their impressive visuals with the "GAMBLER" music video teaser.
In the music video teaser released on May 30, MONSTA X appeared in black suits, in a 20-second video that felt like a teaser for a heist film. The members Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Jooheon, and I.M appeared walking down a hallway in their sleek outfits. A quick flash of the scenes from the upcoming music video raises the tension before giving fans a breathtaking close-up at the eyes of the members, creating a suspenseful feel. The music video teaser ends with a coin flipping as the comeback title and schedule appear.
"GAMBLER" serves as the lead track for their latest Korean album, "One Of A Kind," released on June 1st. It follows the Japanese-language "Flavors of Love," and comes seven months after their last Korean-language release, "Fatal Love," released last November 2020. The new album is highly anticipated both for Korean and international music markets, with the album expected to highlight the growth of its members. Particularly, Jooheon, I.M, and Hyungwon had active participation in the songwriting and composition of the album's tracks.
For Jooheon, it marks his first time to participate in the production of a MONSTA X titled track ever since the group debuted back in 2015. His work on "GAMBLER" is sure to highlight the rapper's development as an all-around musician. On the other hand, Hyungwon has lent his talents with his self-composed songs "Secret" and "Bebe," which are two of the tracks set to appear in the album.
MONSTA X is set to release its ninth mini-album "One Of A Kind," together with the music video for "GAMBLER," on June 1st and fans can expect the group's full promotion activities moving forward.
