In an exclusive report released by SPOTV News on Friday, Jun. 25, EXO member D.O. will release his first solo album by the end of July.

SM Entertainment soon confirmed the news to South Korean media outlet Newsen, saying that D.O. will, in fact, release a solo album. The entertainment company asks fans for their interest and support, as it will be the first time D.O. will release a solo album in nine years since his debut.

Previously, on June 10, D.O. took to Lysn Bubble to reveal to fans that he has finished recording his solo album. He has reportedly finished recording it for a while and is just waiting for it to be released.

The "Don't Fight The Feeling" singer stated he was also curious about how his album will do and how fans will react to it.

In January 2021, D.O. held a live stream through Naver's V Live following his discharge from his mandatory military service. While answering fans' questions, the idol revealed that he wanted to share his own music with EXO-Ls, EXO's fanbase, and has stated that the songs are already finished and that he is working hard on learning the lyrics.

Before D.O.'s mandatory military enlistment, the EXO member released the song "That's Okay" as a farewell to fans as he partakes in his military duties. It was released through SM Entertainment's SM Station project. The idol reportedly helped co-write the song.

Expectations are high for D.O., as it is his first solo debut since his debut with EXO in 2012. The idol is known for his strong singing ability as he is widely regarded as EXO's main vocalist. In addition, the "Love Shot" singer is known for his soft and warm tone.

According to SPOTV News, D.O's solo album will be filled with songs that will showcase his honey-sweet vocals.

EXO D.O.'s Recent Activities

D.O. participated in EXO's most recent comeback, "Don't Fight The Feeling." The mini-album was released on June 7, 2021, and is the first time D.O. has participated in an EXO comeback since "Don't Mess Up My Tempo" in 2018.

The album garnered 1.2 million pre-orders prior to its release, breaking EXO's past personal record of 1.1 million pre-order copies sold with "Don't Mess Up My Tempo."

On June 14, it was announced that the mini-album sold over one million copies, making it the fastest EXO album to do so. This is the group's sixth album to surpass one million copies sold.

On the Gaon Album Chart, "Don't Fight the Feeling" debuted at number one. On Japan's Oricon Albums Chart, "Don't Fight the Feeling" peaked at number three, while it peaked at number six on Billboard Japan's Hot Albums Chart. In the United States, "Don't Fight the Feeling" debuted at number eight on the Billboard World Albums Chart.

D.O. is currently filming the movie "Secret," a South Korean remake of the 2007 Taiwanese movie of the same name. D.O. was cast as the male lead, a student who plays the piano.
