TWICE, BLACKPINK, and More are the Most Searched K-Pop Girl Groups on MelOn in June 2021
On July 1, 12 MN KST, MelOn Charts revealed who the most searched K-pop girls groups were in June.

TWICE was the Most Searched K-Pop Girl Group on MelOn in June 2021
Taking the top spot is none other than the JYP Entertainment stars, TWICE! The girl group was searched for 423,206 times in just one month!
It is no surprise why TWICE took home the top spot. The girl made their highly-anticipated summer comeback in June with "Alcohol-Free" and their mini-album "Taste of Love." The song peaked at number six on the Gaon Digital Charts and number 7 on the Billboard Korea K-Pop Hot 100 charts.

Additionally, "Alcohol-Free" peaked at number 41 on the Billboard Global 200 charts and number three on the Billboard US World Digital Song Sales chart. TWICE won four music show wins for "Alcohol-Free," with two from Mnet's "M Countdown" and two from SBS's "Inkigayo."
"Taste of Love" debuted at number two on the Gaon Album Chart. In the United States, the mini-album entered the Billboard 200 at number six, while "Taste of Love" claimed the top spots of both the Billboard World Albums and Top Album Sales Chart. This is the second time TWICE topped the latter chart.

Previously, "Taste of Love" made headlines surpassed 530,000 pre-order sales, making TWICE half-million seller before its release, making it TWICE's third release to surpass 500,000 sales.
BLACKPINK was the Second Most-Searched K-Pop Girl Group on MelOn in June 2021
Ranking in second place is the YG Entertainment sensations, BLACKPINK! According to MelOn, they were searched for 345,052 times in June.
Unlike TWICE, BLACKPINK did not have a comeback. However, the company announced the group's special project to celebrate their fifth anniversary as a group. The label announced that the girls would be releasing a movie which will be released in August and screened in cinemas worldwide.

The movie will showcase memories of BLACKPINK's five years together since their debut. The film, titled "BLACKPINK — The Movie," will also show unrevealed special interviews for the fans and intense image cuts of the four members, Jisoo, Jennie Rosé, and Lisa.
