BLACKPINK DDU-DU DDU-DU Achieves New Record as Group's Third Song to Surpass 400 Million Spotify Streams

On July 20, YG Entertainment announced that BLACKPINK DDU-DU DDU-DU exceeded 400 million Spotify streams at 9 p.m. on the 19th.

This is the third record in BLACKPINK's career, following "KILL THIS LOVE" and "How You Like That." Considering that BLACKPINK is the only K-pop girl group that has 400 million streams on Spotify, these records proved their growing influence in the global music market.

Over Spotify alone, BLACKPINK already cemented their title as the "Biggest Girl Group in the World." Since their debut, they have gained 16 billion cumulative streams on the world's largest music streaming platform.

Some of BLACKPINK's most-streamed songs include "Ice Cream," "As If It's Your Last," Jennie's debut song, "SOLO" which all gained 300 million streams. The songs that gained 200 million streams include "BOOMBAYAH," Lovesick Girls," and "Whistle." Meanwhile, "Forever Young, " "Don't Know What to Do," "Pretty Savage," "Stay," "Bet You Wanna," and Rosé's debut song, "On the Ground" achieved 100 million streams.

On the other hand, BLACKPINK DDU-DU DDU-DU is not only rocking records on Spotify but YouTube as well. The track's music video has surpassed 1.6 billion views. Due to this, the quartet - comprised of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa - becomes the first-ever K-pop group to achieve the 1 billion mark in the video streaming platform.

Along with this, the number of YouTube subscribers of BLACKPINK soared to more than 63 million, proving the steady love of their global fandom.

"DDU-DU DDU-DU" is the title track of BLACKPINK first mini-album "SQUARE UP," released on June 15, 2018. Shortly after its release, the song ranked 40th and 55th on the U.S. Billboard 200 and Hot 100, respectively.

The song also broke records in the domestic music chart, achieving a "Perfect All Kill." This marked the highest ranking in K-pop girl group history at the time.
