Stray Kids first started in 2017 after JYP Entertainment announced a reality show of the same name in search of new vocalists and rappers for the company's next male idol group.

Nine members were chosen, and JYP released their first pre-debut EP Mixtape, which debuted at number two on South Korea's Gaon Music Chart and the Billboard World Albums Chart.

Following the release of successful, multiple EPs, including Clé 1: Miroh and Clé 2: Yellow Wood, was their first Korean-language album 'GO生 (Go Live)' in 2020.

The band recently uploaded a series of videos on YouTube, including [SKZ SONG CAMP] Howl in Harmony, where fans are given a preview of the band members' songwriting and composing processes. On August 1, they hosted a live stream party titled STAY 3rd Birthday Party | 2021 STAYweeK to celebrate the third anniversary of "Stay," the official name of their fandom.

This year, Stray Kids have also engaged in many endorsements. Last February, they were chosen as new models for Cli Cosmetics and Wego, and they are to become the ambassadors of the Korean Pavilion at Dubai's Expo 2020.
