Exiting 'HIDEOUT,' Entering 'THE AWAKENING'

CRAVITY made its debut on April 14, 2020, with the EP "Season 1. Hideout: Remember Who We Are," setting off a trilogy of mini-albums under the concept "HIDEOUT." With their first three EPs, the Starship Entertainment boy group revealed a unique concept that binds all three releases together - resulting in a coherent work that has been warmly received by fans across the world. It gave the group various victories at music shows and singles charts, as well as paving their way toward multiple rookie awards.

While the "HIDEOUT" showcased CRAVITY overcoming their inner struggles and working towards being a single unit in the new world we live in, "THE AWAKENING" will show the group's return as a stronger team. Moving forward, even in the midst of adversity, the group continues to shine brighter with the new album concept.

Stepping on the 'Gas Pedal' and Accelerating Forward

The title track "Gas Pedal," is a song that encapsulates CRAVITY growing as K-Pop idols and as a group of nine unique individuals. Using groovy hip-hop beats and fast-paced rhythms, the group showcases their growth in an upbeat and energizing track.

Additionally, the song was released with a music video on the same day, showing all members of the Starship Entertainment boy group "awakening" in a sense, giving the audience a sense of the overarching theme of the album. With the bonus of the members' visuals fitting perfectly with the cyberpunk aesthetic of the MV, CRAVITY definitely makes a strong impression for their comeback.

Aside from the title track, "THE AWAKENING: Written in the Stars" also includes the tracks "Intro: New Horizon," "VENI VIDI VICI," "CHINGA-LINGA," "CELEBRATE," "Grand Prix," and "Divin.'"

Nine As One: Visual Transformation Marks Group Growth

Even before the release of the "Gas Pedal" and its MV, CRAVITY has been raising expectations from fans with their unique and creative concept films and photos: "AWAKE," "TAKE," and "YOUTH" each showing a side and an idea of its own, all contributing to the overall feel and appeal of the "THE AWAKENING: Written in the Stars" and its title track "Gas Pedal."

"AWAKE" creates a sci-fi feel, like a movie teaser, whereas "TAKE" focuses on the group's visuals highlighted in a cyberpunk context, using bright lights and pop culture imagery to draw out a unique feel from every image. Lastly, "YOUTH" offers a refreshing break by focusing on the members' boyish charms.
