BTS' 'Butter' Remix Featuring Megan Thee Stallion Being Blocked from Release by Rapper's Music Label

On August 24 local time, American media outlet TMZ reported that American rapper, Megan Thee Stallion, is claiming that her music label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, has been preventing her from releasing a new song that is in collaboration with BTS.

According to TMZ, Megan Thee Stallion is a featuring artist in the remix version of BTS' record-breaking hit, "Butter," and the rapper had decided to take it to court to try and stop her label's blocking.

In the legal documents that Megan Thee Stallion had reportedly submitted to court, the remix version of "Butter" in which she features in is supposed to be released on Friday, August 27, unless 1501 Certified Entertainment is able to block its release.

Megan Thee Stallion wants the remix to be released as it "will help to expand her international fanbase," due to BTS' massive fanbase and brand. But for the American rapper's music label, they have reportedly told her that they don't believe that the song would be good for her recording career.

Megan Thee Stallion, however, believes that is just an excuse for 1501 Certified Entertainment to "shake her down for 6-figures" and have her pay the label for them to sign off the release of the song.

In fact, this isn't the first time the rapper was blocked from releasing new music. Since 2020, Megan Thee Stallion has been getting blocked from releasing new music, and has been trying to renegotiate or terminate her contract with 1501 Certified Entertainment, which the label refuse to do.
