BTS' 'Fake Love' Hits 1 Billion Views, 5th MV to Reach the Mark

Phenomenal K-Pop boy group BTS received another achievement when their Fake Love music video reached one billion views on YouTube.

On September 8, BTS Fake Love music video exceeded one billion views on YouTube.

Three years and three months after its release, "Fake Love" achieved the milestone on September 8, as of now, the music video has 1,000,261,309 views since it was uploaded on YouTube last May 18, 2018.

The music video achieved 35.9 million views in the first 24 hours of its release. The song is the carrier track of BTS' third solo album "Love Yourself: Tear" which was released on the same day.

BTS Fake Love is the septet's fifth music video to hit one billion views on YouTube after "MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix)," "DNA," "Boy With Luv" featuring Halsey and "Dynamite."

"DNA" music video was released on September 18, 2017, it reached the one billion mark last June 1, 2020, after two years and eight months. It made BTS the first K-Pop boy band to have a music video to hit one billion views.

Following "DNA," "Boy With Luv" became the second BTS music video to get one billion views on October 24, 2020, just 18 months after it was uploaded on YouTube last April 12, 2019.

Third in line was "Dynamite," which accumulated one billion views last April 12, just eight months since its release on YouTube last August 21, 2020.

Meanwhile, "MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix)" gained one billion views last July 26, three years and eight months since the music video was uploaded on YouTube last November 24, 2017.

BTS already has five music videos on YouTube's top 10 most viewed MVs in the first 24 hours of release.

Aside from that, BTS currently holds the record for being the fastest K-Pop group music video to reach one billion views which is "Dynamite" in only seven months and 22 days.

BTS Fake Love was released on May 18, 2018, so it took the music video around three years, three months, and 20 days to achieve one billion views.

BTS achievements are overflowing

BTS made another mark in Billboard history by retaking the top spot on the Billboard main single chart "Hot 100" with "Butter" and reaching the top for the 10th time in their whole career.

According to the latest chart (as of September 11) released by Billboard, an American music media outlet, on the 7th (local time), BTS topped the 'Hot 100' with 'Butter'. 'Butter' has maintained the number one position for seven consecutive weeks since it newly entered the charts on June 5th.

To celebrate "Butter"s brilliant history, which is now loved all over the world and established itself as a "Global Summer Song," last August 27, Megan Thee Stallion collaborated in the "Butter" remix sound source. The new remix version of "Butter" featured a different charm to the fans all over the world by harmonizing BTS's soft yet intense charm along with Megan Thee Stallion's rich vocals and ad-libs.
