MMA Gives Shawols an Update on SHINee Taemin's Life in the Military
On September 16, the Military Manpower Administration (MMA) uploaded a post concerning Taemin on their official blog. They provided a sneak peek into an upcoming video interview with the male idol, as well as several photos of the singer in his military uniforms.
Taemin was seen holding a copy of the military magazine in some of his photos. On the cover of the magazine in Minho, a fellow SHINee member. He smiles as he holds the magazine and is seen opening it up to read Minho's interview.
Ahead of their interview, the MMA shared a few of Taemin's answers to their questions in a sneak peek for fans!
Taemin revealed that for the practical skill test to apply for the military band, he sang Big Mama's "Resignation." He was able to join the military band, but the idol revealed that he has yet to participate in any events as part of the squad. Still, he expressed his desire to take part in an event soon.

To get ready for an event, Taemin revealed he is spending most of his time practicing the South Korean national anthem as well as a song titled "We Go Together." "We Go Together" is a song that honors the spirit of the Republic of Korea-United States alliance.
Taemin revealed that the best part of being part of the military band is that he is able to make use of his specialty and develop it further. He then informed viewers that he has been practicing and learning how to play the piano ever since he joined the military band.
When asked about what he wanted to do when he is given his first break, Taemin stated that he would like to meet his family and pet. When asked about what his greatest source of energy is in the military, Taemin confessed that his source of energy comes from the food served at the cafeteria!
Taemin also revealed what serving in the military means for him, saying, "To me, serving in the military is a period of my life in which I can look back at myself and grow. I want to tell my fans that I miss them so much, and I am rooting for everyone who will be enlisting soon. Fighting!"

Taemin Recent Activities
On May 31, 2021, Taemin officially enlisted in the military as a member of the military band. He is the last member of SHINee to partake in his mandatory military enlistment. Onew, Key, and Minho entered the military in 2018 and 2019 and were all discharged in 2020.
Prior to his enlistment, he released his third Korean-language mini-album "Advice." The said album contains five songs, including a title track of the same name. "Advice" peaked at number two on the Gaon Album Charts.
