In MelOn Music Awards' history, which performance do viewers can't ever forget? Based on the responses of K-pop fans, a media outlet summarized the most legendary performances that ever happened in the annual awards ceremony, including stages of BTS, IU, SNSD, BLACKPINK and more.

On December 4, the music platform MelOn will once again grace the K-pop industry with its annual music awards ceremony, MelOn Music Awards (MMA).

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony is announced to be held virtually again, which will be streamed live through various social media platforms and will feature performances of numerous K-pop artists.

As further details about the official lineup are yet to be revealed, Korean media outlet DongA selected the Top 7 most legendary performances in MMA's history.

BTS 'Idol,' IU's 'Dear Name,' SNSD's 'Genie' are the Most Legendary Performance from MMA's History

In the article, BTS' "Idol" stage in 2018 was mentioned first, highlighting how it gained the highest number of views among all MMA videos.

During the septet's stage, both Korean and global fans were amazed by their performance, as they also embrace the K-culture by wearing hanbok and stage direction using traditional instruments as props.

Following this, IU's "Dear Name" performance will always remain the most iconic and touching among MMA's stages so far.

In 2017, IU gave a special stage by singing "Dear Name" with singers who have not yet had a chance to make their own name to be remembered in the music industry.

While they performed together, the names of those on the stage appeared on the big screen and were conveyed in sign language and voice at the same time, leaving a lingering impression on the viewers.

Also, the Girls' Generation's "Genie" performance which opened the offline MMA in 2009 is still loved to date.

More than a decade later, the song, dance choreography, and stage remained iconic, setting the true value of SNSD in the K-pop scene.

At that time, Girls' Generation showed powerful performances and the essence of sharp group dance through "Genie" and confirmed its position as a representative group of K-pop with a live stage where you can even hear breathing sounds.

Lim Young Woong's "Hero" presented in 2020 through non-contact broadcast joined the list for showing the real example of online performance.

Through "Hero," the Trot singer completed a high-quality performance that cannot be taken off your eyes for a moment, the colorful sets such as chandeliers and 360-degree stage composition added to the experience.

In 2016, BLACKPINK who just debuted amazingly took the MMA stage and sang "Whistle" and "Playing with Fire" and received favorable reviews for their trendy stage direction.

In the same year, TWICE received good feedback by singing "CHEER UP" and "TT," wherein they reinterpreted a spooky Halloween stage with zombies and outfits inline the celebration.

Lastly, WINNER's MMA 2014 stage received positive responses from fans as an opportunity to guess the members' solo activities in advance.
