JYJ Junsu Establishes Own Label Following Departure from Longtime Agency C-JeS Entertainment

JYJ Kim Junsu has set up a one-man agency after parting ways with his longtime company C-JeS Entertainment.

On Nov. 9, C-JeS Entertainment announced that Kim Junsu had left the company after his exclusive contract with the company expired. The singer had been with the label for a total of 12 years.

Although the JYJ member departed from the agency, C-JeS Entertainment said that they will continue to work with him and help him in his future activities.

On Nov. 10, JYJ Junsu announced that he opened a one-man agency, called PALMTREE ISLAND, with his longtime manager.

PALMTREE ISLAND derives from the plant that Kim Junsu likes, and it aims to make a comfortable space that supports the company's employees. The name also conveys the message, "We will not stop and will continue to move forward until the day the processes we undergo with a shared dream bear fruit."

A representative of JYJ Junsu's agency stated, "Kim Junsu, who has received consistent love from the public for working hard without taking a break in different fields as a singer and musical actor, will manage his one-man agency that carries his identity."

They added that the JYJ member will head the general direction of PALMTREE ISLAND with the experience and know-how he has gathered until now.

They further said that Kim Junsu is also planning a variety of activities with his company, so they ask for fans' to show lots of interest and support for the singer's new beginning.

 

Along with the announcement of the establishment of JYJ Junsu's agency, they have also launched the official social media accounts of the company.

PALMTREE ISLAND even shared new profile photos of Kim Junsu on their SNS accounts.

JYJ Kim Junsu's Last Solo Comeback under C-JeS Entertainment

In other news, JYJ Junsu made his last solo comeback under C-JeS Entertainment in November of last year.

On Nov. 10, Kim Junsu released a new mini-album, titled "Pit A Pat" under his stage name XIA. This is his first mini-album since his military discharge in November 2018. It is also his first album in four years since his fourth full album "XIGNATURE" came out in 2016.

"Pit A Pat" consists of four songs, one is the title track which is a rhythmical house song and three B-sides that are emotional ballad tracks.

Composed by Houston Grey and HUMBLER, "Pit A Pat" features lyrics that talk about becoming close to someone in spite of the world around you.

On the first day of sales, XIA's "Pit A Pat" recorded 14,005 copies on the Hanteo Chart. The album went on to sell a total of 27,588 copies in the first week.

Over on the Gaon Chart, "Pit A Pat" sold 39,624 total copies in the whole month of November 2020.

To commemorate the release of his new mini-album, JYJ Junsu held an online concert, titled "2020 XIA ONLINE CONCERT PIT A PAT," on Nov. 21 through 22.
