Man Heard Being Racist To BLACKPINK Rosé in Video

On Wednesday, November 10, BLACKPINK member Rosé was spotted at the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks vs. New York Knicks game in New York City. The game was held in Madison Square Garden, and she was seen sitting courtside. It appears the idol attended the game to support the NY Knicks, as basketball player Derrick Rose had sent the songstress a jersey with her name on it prior to the game.

As Rosé was leaving the game, the front gates appeared crowded with fans waiting to catch a glimpse of the idol. Additionally, several other names attended the event, such as Lorde and Chris Rock. Due to the number of stars who watched the game, the venue was packed with fans and reporters trying to see them leave.

While his first questions were understandable, fans were immediately outraged when he made a racist joke. The man replied to his own question and called Rosé "Ling Ling."

Ling Ling is often used as a racial slur against Asians. The phrase stems from non-Asians imitating how Asian languages sound, specifically Chinese. While it is a fictional character's name and even the former name of Yangzhou, a city in Hunan, China, many believed the man was trying to make a racist joke against Rosé.

With that, many were considered if the idol had heard the man's racist words against her. While the idol paid no attention to the slur at the moment, people speculate that there is a chance she could have heard it and chose to ignore it.

As of the time of writing, the identity of the man has not been identified.
