Super Junior Siwon Reveals Why EXO, SHINee & SNSD Weren't in SM Halloween Party
Super Junior Siwon revealed the reason the three of the most anticipated groups at the recently held "SMTOWN WONDERLAND 2021" weren't present. In a recent broadcast, the idol-actor explained why he decided to show up upon knowing SHINee, EXO, and SNSD wouldn't attend the party.
On Nov. 15, SM Entertainment dropped a new video through Super Junior official YouTube channel, with the title, "WARNING| 슈퍼주니어 영상팀 (강제) 하드 털이.Zip SJ_Behind_The_Scene.zip."
In the video, the behind-the-scenes from Super Junior's 16th-anniversary celebration were unveiled, wherein the members gathered up for a live broadcast.
Prior to the real-time interaction with fans, Super Junior has had a good time greeting each other as each of them arrived in the venue.
During the conversation, Siwon then mentioned the previously held SM Entertainment Halloween party and revealed some background stories about it.

On the uploaded video, Siwon opened up about this year's "SMTOWN Wonderland" party, which was only participated by Shindong and him among the members.
"We had an SM Halloween party a while ago, it was an empty house party. SHINee won't do it, EXO won't do it, and SNSD won't do it, so I thought, 'This is a time for me to go,'" Siwon started.
"I took a picture when the manager quietly approached me and said, 'Shindong is Younghee of Squid Game,' so I was like, 'Oh no," the male idol added.
Although Siwon briefly mentioned EXO, SHINee, and SNSD, it clarified some assumptions that the three groups weren't able to join due to SM Entertainment.
Contrary to the alleged speculations the agency didn't invite the aforementioned groups, it seemed like the decision was up to the artists, and it so happened that the K-pop acts decided not to participate this time probably due to various reasons such as having a busy schedule.
Going back to the SMTOWN Halloween topic, Siwon then added how Onew, the only SHINee member who attended won first place, while Shindong ranked third.
Siwon who hilariously mentioned he got a participation prize then attested to his appearance next year, asking for costume advice from his co-member.

On the other hand, Super Junior commemorated their 16th anniversary of its debut through a countdown live.
The live was held on Super Junior's YouTube channel for about an hour on the 5th, and the members flaunted a cute concept where members gather in the attic and have a "house party."
In the broadcast, Super Junior shared a special gift for global fans, including an update talk and balance game, as well as a countdown to the 16th anniversary of its debut ahead of midnight of Nov. 6, their official debut date.
In particular, Super Junior debuted on November 6, 2005, under SM Entertainment. They have been loved for not only group, unit, and personal music activities, but also musical, radio, and TV programs, and even as actors.
In March, Super Junior released its 10th full-length album "The Renaissance" to belatedly commemorate their 15th debut anniversary wherein it topped the iTunes top album chart in 23 regions around the world, topped the digital album sales chart on major Chinese music sites and the Gaon weekly album chart.
