Spotify Releases Spotify Holiday Singles With Lee Hi, The First Korean Artist To Participate in the Annual Year-End Holiday Project

Spotify - the world's most popular audio streaming subscription service - today announced the 2021 additions to the ever-growing 'Spotify Singles: Holiday Collection' playlist.

This year, LeeHi participated in the project as the first Korean artist and the only artist from Asia. As the first Korean artist to participate in the collection, LeeHi recorded her heartwarming single 'For You' with a fresh new holiday vibe as an exclusive track on Spotify. The track is only available on Spotify.

'Spotify Singles: Holiday Collection' is one of Spotify Singles playlists that feature original songs re-recorded in a fresh new way and covers by artists, offering a reimagined version of various holiday tracks as well as originals.

Over the past five years, Spotify Singles: Holiday Collection has helped spread holiday cheer to Spotify users all over the world. To give listeners instant holiday cheer and vibe, the collection has featured differentiated holiday songs from artists such as John Legend, Camilo, Norah Jones, Miley Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson, Sam Smith, Julien Baker, and Demi Lovato.

And this year, for the first time ever, Spotify expanded the range of artists participating in the holiday collection outside the United States to make the Christmas holiday a truly global holiday moment.

This year, Spotify has worked closely with artists from multiple genres to recreate holiday classics. The collection has 12 freshly-recorded covers and originals from artists including Spoon, Ashnikko, Nao, jxdn, Caylee Hammack, Chandler Moore, MisterWives, and Surfaces, as well as a global slate of artists such as Lee Hi (Korea), Alexandra Streliski (Canada), El Alfa (Latin America), and LOVA (the Nordics).

As a first-ever Korean artist to be featured in Holiday Collection, LeeHi expresses her joy by sharing, "Thanks to Spotify, I was able to reinterpret 'For You' into a new romantic holiday song perfect for this year-end season. It was fun to recreate a much-loved track to a holiday version just for Spotify's Holiday Singles for broader international music fans."

She added, "I hope the reimagined 'For You' and other songs in the collection can comfort listeners so they can have a happy holiday in a time where cheer is certainly needed."

"'Spotify Singles: Holiday Collection' has been the go-to destination for holiday tracks. This year, we reimagined holiday classics with LeeHi from Korea and other artists from the globe to create new renditions of timeless tunes," Spotify spokesperson said.
