Kep1er's agencies Wake One and Swing Entertainment announced that the debut activities of the girl group will be postponed, following a staff who tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, K-pop fans wonder if this includes their debut stage at 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), set to kick off on December 11.
Kep1er to Postpone Debut Schedule After a Staff Tested Positive for COVID-19
Girl group Kep1er, whose members were chosen through Mnet's "Girls Planet 999," postponed their debut schedule after their staff tested positive for COVID-19.
On the afternoon of December 5, Kep1er's agency Wake One and Swing Entertainment released their official statement regarding the news.
Here's Wake One and Swing Entertainment's Statement:
Hello, we are Wake One and Swing Entertainment.
This is an announcement of the postponement of the activity schedule of our artist Kep1er, who was about to debut on the 14th.
On the morning of December 4th, one of Kep1er's on-site staff was tested positive for COVID-19. As soon as the staff suspected symptoms of being infected, the artists (Kep1er) preemptively conducted a coronavirus test, and all of them were negative.
In addition to this, there are currently no suspected symptoms of infection such as fever or respiratory disease among the members.
All of the staff involved have also been tested for COVID-19, and there have been no additional confirmed cases so far, and all those who have yet to come out are in quarantine.
In consideration of the health and safety of the members and staff as the top priority, Kep1er's scheduled activities have been completely suspended, so it is inevitable to postpone Kep1er's promotional schedule.
We apologize to the fans and all the officials who waited for Kep1er's debut, and we will inform you of the schedule to resume the activities later.
We will do our best to help artists and staff work in the safest environment and actively cooperate with the authorities' instructions and procedures.

Will the Group Still Appear at MAMA 2021? Kep1er to Debut with Mini-Album 'First Impact' and its Title Track 'WA DA DA'
Kep1er was scheduled to release their debut album "First Impact" on December 14. The album will unveil the nine-member group's worldview while its title track, "WA DA DA," will showcase the rookie idols' powerful yet girlish charms.
Kep1er was actually set to meet their global fans through Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) and its global debut showcase through Mnet's digital studio M2.
However, according to Korean media outlet OSEN, Kep1er is unlikely to be able to attend MAMA 2021, and carry out their initially-announced official schedules to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Attention is focused on when their activities will resume.
