On Dec. 7, Yoseob became the main character of numerous headlines after revealing in his recent broadcast his experience of school violence.
HIGHLIGHT Yoseob Recalls Time He Was Assaulted in Middle School
On December 3, Yang Yoseob revealed how he was beaten up at school before for a ridiculous reason.
"I remember being beaten once when I was in the first grade of middle school," the "Brain" singer recalled.
"I was playing soccer with my friends but it was already sunset and we were going home, but a group approached us and surrounded us. I was dragged to the west, my friends to the north and east. I got hit without knowing the reason," the male idol carefully narrated.

Yoseob added, "I was very worried about my friends, but both my friends who went north and my friends to the east were fine. I was the only one who got hit. The next day, I heard from my friends about the incident, and they said I was hit because I was cute."
With this, Yoseob couldn't help but laugh as he recalled the incident. The second-gen idol clarified that the group who assaulted him didn't particularly say they find him cute, but rather the word triggered them.

In context, when a female student praised the idol and said "cute" to Yang Yoseob, a male student who had a crush on this female student assaulted him due to anger.
"When I heard that, I was so speechless that I just stayed there. So I was hit because it was cute. The reason for being hit is so ridiculous that I don't think anyone will believe it," Yoseob also said.
As a result, fans of the male idol felt mixed reactions to the story. Although internet users and fans agreed that Yoseob is undoubtedly cute, the majority vent out their frustrations that Yoseob was harmed due to it.
In fact, during the broadcast, the male singer also conveyed that he was bruised and can't eat properly at that time; thus, fans belatedly expressed their worries and concerns.
Nevertheless, fans also commented that they wonder if where are the group that assaulted Yoseob and if they can see his success now.
