SMTOWN to Release Winter Album, Reveals Upcoming Tour Details
On December 9, SM Entertainment released an announcement on all their SNS channels about SMTOWN's upcoming winter album and concert.
In the upcoming "SMCU Express," all of the agency's artists Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls' Generation-Oh!GG, SHINee, Red Velvet, NCT, aespa and EXO are set to participate in the project.
According to the announcement, SM Entertainment will release the SMTOWN winter album on December 27, and the artists will hold the concert on January 1, 2022.

SM Entertainment is one of the "Big 3" agencies, along with YG Entertainment and JYP Entertainment. Among the three, SM Entertainment has the most number of K-pop artists.

SM Entertainment Launches 'SMTOWN 2022: SMCU EXPRESS,' More Tours to be Expected
The "SMTOWN 2022" project "SMCU EXPRESS" is set to expand the artist's worldview, which was newly named "Metaversal Origin Story" by Executive Producer Lee Soo Man, which is based on SMCU or SM Culture Universe.
To experience the future contents of the metaverse, performances, albums, and exhibitions will be presented in advance.
The tour, "SMTOWN LIVE 2022: SMCU EXPRESS@KWANGYA," will be held on January 1. Prior to this, it has been held in major cities all over the world since 2008 and it has been setting different records.
SMTOWN Live is the background of "SMCU EXPRESS STATION." This is where all of the artists gather in a virtual space named "KWANGYA," and previous performances were all compiled in the space.

The concert is planned as a free performance to convey hope to fans all over the world who are experiencing the exhaustion because of the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, it is expected to be a great gift to all music fans all over the world.
Meanwhile, SMTOWN's winter Album will be released on December 27. It is the first SMTOWN winter album in 10 years since 2011.
Moreover, the media content exhibition "SMTOWN EXPERIENCE: PLAY @KWANGYA" will begin on December 30. It will use the LED screen located on the SM Seongsu's new office building to feature the video content that allows the viewers to see the project at a glance.
On the other hand, the "SMTOWN 2022: SMCU EXPRESS" concept poster, released through SMTOWN's official SNS account last December 9, contains an artist lineup that announces the start of a special project that can meet all performances, albums, and exhibitions.
