IVE Stylist Garners Criticism for Dressing Jang Wonyoung in Vastly Different Outfits From Her Members

IVE Stylist Draws Criticism for Dressing Jang Wonyoung in Extremely Different Outfits From Her Members
On December 17, the KBS Gayo Daechukje year-end music festival was held. Several popular idols made their appearance at the event, such as Red Velvet, SEVENTEEN, aespa, STAYC, ENHYPEN, TXT and IVE. The latter group especially attracted the attention of media outlets thanks to their youthful and gorgeous beauty on the red carpet.
While their visuals were praised, their outfits sparked controversy. While the other five members of IVE were in all-white outfits with silver jewels embellishing their clothes. They were also in white boots.
However, Jang Wonyoung was seen wearing an all-black outfit. She is seen wearing a black mini-dress with gold buttons along the middle, with white lace at the top. She is also seen wearing black boots.

While many initially speculated that it was because she was MCing for that night, that was soon debunked. Her fellow co-hosts, ENHYPEN's Sunghoon, TXT's Soobin and Oh My Girl's Arin, all wore white that night.
Internet users were highly displeased with how IVE chose to style Jang Wonyoung. It was pointed out that the main theme KBS designated for this year's event is white. By dressing Jang Wonyoung in black, IVE looked less like a group and more like "Jang Wonyoung and friends." People believe that the members should all be given a chance to shine evenly.

During IVE's performance for "ELEVEN," Jang Wonyoung changed to a white outfit to match her other members. However, despite matching in terms of color, her outfit still brought about allegations of favoritism. This is because all the other IVE members were all in shorts, while Jang Wonyoung wore a tulle skirt.
Some comments concerning Jang Wonyoung's outfit include, "From the beginning, the general concept was white. When I watched the video of the backstage interviews, I was a bit shocked because only Wonyoung was dressed differently," "Looks like Jang Wonyoung and her back-up dancers," "But the white looks better..." and "I bet everyone reading this is feeling sorry for Jang Wonyoung."

On December 1, IVE made their official debut with their first single album, "ELEVEN," with a title track of the same name. In the United States, "ELEVEN" charted at number 12 on the World Digital Song Sales and Hot Trending Songs Chart.
IVE won their first-ever music show win on "Show Champion" on December 8, making them the fastest female group to win on a music show since debut.
