BLACKPINK Gallery Issues Statement Regarding Alleged Call Complaints Amid 'Snowdrop' Controversy
For the past week, JTBC's new drama "Snowdrop," headlined by BLACKPINK's Jisoo and Jung Hae In, have been entangled in controversy for allegedly distorting the 1987 pro-democracy movement and glorifying the Agency for National Security Planning (ANSP).
Since then, Korean netizens have called for the cancellation of the drama and brands have pulled out of their sponsorships.
Amid the controversy, BLACKPINK's fans, BLINKs, have been accused of allegedly making call complaints to the Lee Han Yeol Memorial Museum to prevent the drama's cancellation.
DC Inside BLACKPINK Gallery's statement
Regarding this, DC Inside's BLACKPINK Gallery released a statement on December 22 KST.
According to BLACKPINK Gallery, an article titled "Let's call the Lee Han Yeol Memorial Museum," was originally posted in the DC Gallery for "Snowdrop," and not the BLACKPINK Gallery. In addition, it was posted by an anonymous user, whose post was later removed by the gallery's manager.
However, the post was shared and later circulated with the content saying "BLACKPINK fans made call complaints to protest."

BLACKPINK Gallery also clarifies that they have not made any call complaints, and that they have never expressed an intention to do so.
Lastly, they remind everyone that anyone can write articles on DC Gallery anonymously and without signing up, hence, even non-fans can upload post maliciously at any time.
They also stated that the unknown if the anonymous user, who can't be identified whether or not they are a BLACKPINK fan, actually called the Lee Han Yeol Memorial Museum to complain, and asks others to refrain from criticizing this fictional issue.
Lee Han Yeol Memorial Museum Issues Statement Regarding BLACKPINK Gallery
Following reports of BLACKPINK Gallery and their alleged complaints, the Lee Han Yeol Memorial Museum gave a statement to Xsports News on the same day, confirming that some have called, but it is not enough to be deemed as a collective action.
"It is true that there was a call from a small number of people, but it is not a movement for collective action," the Museum said.
They also stated it is impossible to identify those who called to protest as BLACKPINK fans.
Meanwhile, "Snowdrop" began airing back on December 18. After only two episodes, a national petition to the Blue House was created for its cancellation. On December 21, JTBC released a statement regarding the growing issue.
