6 Things About T-ARA Hyomin That You Might Not Know

Park Sun Young, better known by her stage name Hyomin, is the main rapper, lead vocalist, and lead dancer of the second-generation girl group T-ARA since their debut in 2009.

She, along with T-ARA, went on to become one of the top-performing and best-selling idols known for their sexy yet charming auras, and has released numerous hit and addicting songs such as "Bo Peep Bo Peep," "Roly Poly," "Lovey-Dovey," and many more.

These days, she made headlines for reuniting with T-ARA and releasing their new album "Re:T-ara." More recently, she was reportedly dating soccer player Hwang Ui Jo.

1. Hyomin was an ulzzang prior to her debut in T-ARA

In South Korean culture, ulzzang, pronounced as "eol-jjang," literally means "good looking" or "best face." The term ulzzang is usually given to those who are voted by the public after judging their photos and is based on their popularity online.

With Hyomin's stunning looks, it's no surprise that she was super popular way before her debut!

2. Hyomin was supposed to replace HyunA in Wonder Girls

In the past, Hyomin used to be a trainee under JYP Entertainment. At that time, Wonder Girls already debuted and was making waves in South Korea.

In 2007, Wonder Girls member HyunA left the group due to health concerns, leaving her spot in the group open.

As a JYP trainee, Hyomin was supposed to replace HyunA, however, plans fell through and the vacancy was ultimately given to Yubin.

3. Hyomin has a certification in Japanese cuisine

Being a foodie, she decided to take her love for food to the next level by obtaining a certification!

Back in October 2019, Hyomin announced that she had gotten herself a certification in Japanese cuisine after undergoing tests and practices for six months. She also revealed that she's aiming for a certification in Korean cuisine next!

4. Hyomin is best friends with Girls' Generation's Yuri and Sunny

Most idols have a close friend or two who is also an idol, and Hyomin is no exception to that.

In the past, she mentioned how Girls' Generation members Yuri and Sunny were the ones who helped her decide not to quit her career as an idol and gave her strength.

Since then, the she has been good friends with Yuri and Sunny. Hyomin even showed her support for her fellow idol by appearing on Yuri's cooking show.

5. Hyomin has her own fashion brand 'Say No More'
