SMTOWN's '2021 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU EXPRESS' Album Records Highest Sales Among Releases

Back on December 27, SM Entertainment released their SMTOWN winter album titled "2021 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU EXPRESS," which features tracks from the numerous K-Pop groups and solo artists managed under the "Big 4" label.

In particular, their winter album has surpassed 410,000 album copies sold, with its figures hitting 416,494 copies in just eight days after the album's release.

With that, "2021 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU EXPRESS" marks SMTOWN's best-selling album as it records the highest sales figure among SMTOWN's releases.

"2021 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU EXPRESS" also marks SMTOWN's second winter album released by the label, and the first after 10 years, with their previous release being back in 2011.

Meanwhile, the winter album features a total of 10 tracks sung and performed by SMTOWN artists, including BoA, Super Junior, Girls' Generation - Oh!GG, Kangta, SHINee's Key, Onew, and Minho, EXO's Kai, NCT, Red Velvet, TVXQ, aespa, and more.

Headlined by double title tracks "Hope from KWANGYA" and "Dreams Come True," the album includes songs "ZOO," "Melody," "Magical," "Snow Dream 2021," "Ordinary Day," "Goodbye," "Dinner," and "The Promise of H.O.T."

Back on January 1, SM Entertainment and its artists also held a free online concert, where they performed the tracks from their winter album, as well as present collaborations between the groups and solo artists.

The live concert, which was called "SMTOWN Live 2022: SMCU Express @KWANGYA," had also racked up a hefty number of viewers.

According to reports on January 2, SMTOWN's live concert, which was broadcasted for free on SM Entertainment and their artists' numerous social media platforms, had accumulated more than 51 million views from more than a hundred countries around the world.

Not only that, but it also marked the highest stream figures recorded by any Korean online concert in history, as well as surpassing their own previous record of 35.83 million back in 2021 with SMTOWN's "Culture Humanity" live concert.

More About SMTOWN

SM Entertainment's artists are collectively known as SMTOWN, and would often collaborate with each other for the numerous projects by the label.

So far, SMTOWN has released a total of 16 albums beginning in 1999 during the Christmas season. Over the years, SMTOWN released their albums with the winter and summer themes.

Prior to their "2021 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU EXPRESS" album, SMTOWN's last release was back in 2012 with their "SM Best Album 3."

Aside from their albums, SMTOWN also released three singles, and has held six concert tours, six music festivals, and six other live concerts.
