BTS Jin Reveals Just How Much Weight He Lost While Recovering From COVID-19

Back on December 25, 2021, Big Hit Labels revealed that BTS member Jin contracted COVID-19. They stated that he became fully vaccinated in August but was experiencing chills and a fever. Though the symptoms were mild, they decided to take a COVID-19 test that morning, and by that evening, he had tested positive for the virus.

After administering self-care at home in accordance with the directions of South Korea's healthcare authorities, Big Hit Music announced on January 4, 2021, that Jin had completely recovered from COVID-19.

That same day, fellow BTS member J-Hope took to Instagram to share a photo of him in a trendy outfit, wearing a brown hat and coat over grey sweatpants and a sweater. He writes, "#outfit," paired with several emojis in his caption. A few minutes after J-Hope uploaded the photo, Jin left a comment.

Jin's comment on J-Hope's post reads, "J-Hope, I lost 4kg. You have got to buy me something to eat." J-Hope replied with a sad emoji, stating that he lost too much.

It appears Jin lost 4kg — which is approximately 8.8lbs — while in COVID-19 recovery. At the reveal, many internet users expressed their sadness over how much weight the male idol lost and how skinny he must be now.

While no one other than the BTS members can comment and reply to their posts, over 240,000 people liked Jin's comment on J-Hope's post. On the other hand, J-Hope's reply to Jin's comment received over 56,000 likes.

On December 30, BTS won the Special International Music Award at the 63rd Japan Record Award. This is the second year in the row BTS won the award. Unfortunately, the members were unable to attend the ceremony, but they expressed their thanks in a pre-recorded acceptance speech. The show also aired footage of BTS's performance of "Butter" from their "PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE" online concert.
