fromis_9's "Midnight Guest" Scores the Group's Highest Stock Pre-Orders Count in Their Career
On Jan. 7, YG Plus, the girl group's album distributor, announced fromis_9's "Midnight Guest" pre-orders count, which was accumulated in just five days starting from Dec. 30, 2021. They said that more than 80,000 pre-orders were recorded within that short period.
According to YG Plus, the pre-orders come from both South Korea and abroad.

With this, "Midnight Guest" has now become fromis_9's most pre-ordered album since their debut. If the same amount of pre-orders turns into physical sales, the album will also become the group's best-selling work.
Notably, fromis_9's "Midnight Guest" pre-orders count is more than double the first-week sales of their third single album "9WAY TICKET" which was released in May of last year. The latter album only sold over 37,000 copies from May 17 to 23.
Because of this, fromis_9 is raising expectations on their upcoming comeback with "Midnight Guest" and is attracting attention to the album's first-week sales.
On Dec. 30, Pledis Entertainment's girl group surprised fans when they shared a concept trailer announcing their comeback in January. The 16-second video shows the fromis_9 members escaping from their own rooms late at night.
On Jan. 6, the nonet continues to excite fans about their upcoming release by dropping a new concept film and group photo. The 17-second clip shows the ladies enjoying a party, with each member holding a glass of champagne.

fromis_9's new album "Midnight Guest" is scheduled for release on Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. KST. It is their first mini-album in more than a year since "My Little Society" arrived in September 2020.
fromis_9's Last Comeback ahead of the release of "Midnight Guest"
On Sept. 1, 2021, Pledis Entertainment's girl group made their last comeback of the year. They released a special single album titled "Talk & Talk." This is the nonet's first release under Pledis Entertainment after transferring from Off The Record Entertainment in August of the same year.
fromis_9's "Talk & Talk" contains the title track of the same name, which is a spin-off of their previous title song "WE GO." "Talk & Talk" portrays a new interpretation of one of the scenes from the "WE GO" music video.
Pledis Entertainment described fromis_9's "Talk & Talk" as a song that delicately captures the fluttering emotions that those who have experienced butterflies in their stomachs at the start of a new encounter can easily relate to. They added that the song gives a comparison of the youthful excitement of yearning to talk on the phone all night long and the "say anything challenge" and "word relay."
About the album sales, "Talk & Talk" sold over 11,000 copies on the Hanteo Chart in the first week of release, while it sold 23,000 copies on the Gaon Chart in the first month. With 23,000 sales, the album debuted at No. 28 on Gaon's monthly chart for September.
