Kep1er Becomes No.2 Girl Group with Highest 1st-Week Debut Album Sales After Surpassing 200,000 Sold Copies
Kep1er made another history after achieving the record for second-highest first-week debut albums sales among girl groups through the years. In addition to this, the nine-member group also sits atop the rankings for the rookie girl group with the highest first-week sales among those who debuted in 2021-2022 so far!

According to South Korea's largest album aggregation site, Hanteo Chart, on the 10th, the newly launched girl group Kep1er through their debut album, "FIRST IMPACT," officially exceeded 200,000 copies.
In particular, Kep1er is a nine-member group comprised of Choi Yujin, Shen Xiao Ting, Mashiro, Kim Chaehyun, Kim Dayeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, Seo Youngeun, and Kang Yeseo. The members who were selected through Mnet's "Girls Planet 999" released their first album, "FIRST IMPACT," on the 3rd.
As a result, Kep1er becomes the No. 1 group with the highest first-week sales volume among rookie groups that debuted in 2021 and 2022.

On top of that, numerous media outlets also highlighted the skyrocketing popularity of Kep1er after achieving the second-highest initial chodong (first-week sales) among girl group debut albums through the years with "FIRST IMPACT."
The group who recorded 206,569 album copies (from Jan. 3 to Jan.9) snagged the title from IVE, who released their single album, "ELEVEN," on Dec. 1 last year.
Among debut albums released by girl groups, aespa still holds their record as the No. 1 girl group with the highest first-week sales with "SAVAGE," which recorded 276,877 sold album copies.
However, Kep1er replaced "rookie monster" aespa as a girl group with the highest first-day debut album sales. In particular, on the 3rd, the release date alone, a total of more than 150,000 copies were sold by the former, surpassing the latter's 147,195 sold album copies.
On top of album sales, "FIRST IMPACT" has also performed well on various domestic and foreign charts, continuing to rise in worldwide popularity. Shortly after its release, it topped all 11 major global genre charts on the global music streaming platform iTunes chart and topped the K-pop genre chart in a total of 23 countries, including the United States, Japan, Britain, Canada, Spain, Germany, France, and Italy.
Its title track, "WA DA DA," entered a total of 20 national charts as well, including ranking third in the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Indonesia, and Thailand. Also, in less than six days after its release, "WA DA DA" MV has surpassed 30 million views on YouTube, continuing another record march.
