SHINee, Taeyeon, Stray Kids, STAYC, and more Join Artist Lineup for 11th Gaon Chart Music Awards 2021

On Jan. 11, Gaon announced further details on the 11th Gaon Chart Music Awards 2021 and revealed 16 participating artists.

According to the official press release, numerous SM artists will attend the awards ceremony, including NCT 127, NCT Dream, Red Velvet, SHINee and SNSD Taeyeon.

Among them, second-gen "Prince of K-pop" SHINee drew massive attention, as this will be their return in an awards ceremony following military hiatus as a group.

Among second-gen artists, SNSD Taeyeon and Brave Girls will also attend, attracting interest in what kind of interaction from them will K-pop enthusiasts receive.

Among top-notch boy groups, Stray Kids, THE BOYZ, will join NCT in the lineup, while STAYC and OH MY GIRL will complete the list for girl groups along with Red Velvet.

There will be solo artists, duo/trio, trot singers that will make the stage lively and more entertaining as well. Kang Daniel, the duo Standing Egg, Lee Mujin, Lee Chanwon, Lim Young Woong and Homies will then join Taeyeon among soloists.

For those who don't know, Gaon Chart Music Awards is a popular music awards ceremony based on Gaon Chart data that combines and aggregates data from online music platforms and physical album distributors.

This year, Super Junior's Eunhyuk and STAYC's Sieun will host the event, drawing attention. The awards ceremony will be held at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul on the 27th" and aside from offline viewers, the awards ceremony will be broadcast live as well on various YouTube channels, 1theK, Kakao TV, and MelOn.

On Nov. 28, the nominees for awards such as "Artist of the Year" for both digital and physical categories were revealed. Some of the nominees include top artists such as BTS, EXO, IU, SHINee, BLACKPINK Rosé, Sunmi, ITZY, AKMU, TWICE and more.
