SEVENTEEN Stays in Touch With Fans Through Viral Dance Challenge

SEVENTEEN, who debuted in 2015, was on a tour across Asia and Europe when the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to cancel their remaining shows.

But even if they were not able to perform live for their fans, SEVENTEEN released the song "Left & Right" from their "Heng:garae" album. The song was embraced by CARATs and it became a viral TikTok dance.

SEVENTEEN is called as such because the number is the sum of all 13 members that are part of three sub-groups. When they come together, they are referred to as SEVENTEEN.

The group's first sub-group is made up of hip-hop artists S. Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon. They also have the vocal unit made up of Woozi, Jeonghan, Joshua, DK, and Seungkwan. The performance unit is made up of Hoshi, Jun, The8, and Dino.

All three leaders of the sub-groups are part of the leaders unit. SEVENTEEN also has a special BSS unit made up of comedians Seungkwan, DK, and Hoshi.

SEVENTEEN Talks Friendship and Views

On July 8, 2021, magazine Dazed featured SEVENTEEN to talk about how their relationships evolved through music and performance.

According to Mingyu, the members of SEVENTEEN used to always fight because they were mostly teenagers at one point. But over the years, they have not only gotten closer; they have also developed more love and respect for one another.

Hoshi adorably revealed that they all say "I love you" to each other in their group chat, but Woozi has never felt comfortable expressing his emotions this way.

Seungkwan said that a lot has changed when it comes to their performances especially now that they are more mature. But what has stayed the same after all these years is their love for food.

He also said that SEVENTEEN love to joke around and laugh so they always tease each other.

When asked if they feel pressure whenever they release a song and a music video, Mingyu said that they do not concern themselves with numbers. After all, their goal is to perform for their fans and repay them for all the love and support that they've given them throughout the years.

Even if getting millions of views is exciting and impressive, Mingyu said that their fans are the reason why they're still here.
