IST Entertainment Reveals More Details Regarding Launch of New Boy Group
IST Entertainment has released further information concerning the debut of its new boy group this year.

IST Entertainment's New Boy Group to Be Formed Through Survival Show
On Feb. 8, IST Entertainment gave more details about the launch of its new boy group. As previously announced, the upcoming idol group will debut in the first half of the year and Kakao Entertainment and Japan's Sony Music Solutions jointly invested in the launch.

Now, according to the agency, they will introduce a survival program that will deal with the selection of the group's members. The show will air on various channels like MBN's Kakao TV and 1theK.

Moreover, IST Entertainment's survival show will begin this February. Both Kakao Entertainment and Sony Music Solutions took part in the TV program. They were involved in the plan and production of the show.
The Boyz
Senior K-pop artists, expert judges and the on-site audience will directly evaluate the skills of the survival show's participants. Meanwhile, the viewers can witness the growth and potential of the trainees.
IST Entertainment's survival show is expected to catch the attention of domestic and foreign fans through the said channels. 1theK, in particular, has about 31 million subscribers on YouTube which makes it an excellent platform to introduce the program and the future idols.

IST Entertainment's new boy group is the agency's first idol group since Play M Entertainment merged with Cre.ker Entertainment to form one company. It is said that the team possesses a hidden talent that was discovered through global auditions.
Meanwhile, information related to IST Entertainment's survival show will be posted on the new boy group's SNS accounts and MBN's Kakao TV.

About Play M Entertainment and Cre.ker Entertainment Before Merging Into IST Entertainment
In September 2021, Play M Entertainment and Cre.ker Entertainment announced that they will merge into one company, which will be called IST Entertainment. Both labels are subsidiaries of Kakao Entertainment.

Play M Entertainment was founded in 2011 as a subsidiary of CUBE Entertainment. Kakao Entertainment later bought the company in 2015 and named it Plan A Entertainment.
In 2019, Kakao M merged Plan A and its other subsidiary agency Fave Entertainment to become Play M Entertainment. Plan A's first artist is Apink, who remains active until today. Apink debuted back in April 2011 with their first EP "Seven Springs of Apink."

Following Apink, Play M Entertainment launched more artists like soloist Huh Gak (September 2011), VICTON (November 2016), Bandage (April 2020) and their latest act Weeekly (June 2020).
IST Entertainment's new boy group will be the label's first all-male group in two years since Bandage.
As for Cre.ker Entertainment, the agency was founded in 2016 by Kakao M. It was independently managing its only idol group The Boyz before merging with Play M Entertainment.
Melody Day
Before The Boyz, Cre.ker was home to the girl group Melody Day, which debuted in February 2014 with their first single album "Another Parting." The quartet disbanded in December 2018 after the members decided not to renew their contracts with the company.
