During an interview with Teen Vogue, Stray Kids' leader Bang Chan revealed which JYP Entertainment labelmate helped him during his trainee days.

The idol opened up about his journey as a musician. He confessed that he does not like relying on others, but that he did end up looking up to some older trainees at the company as a trainee. Bang Chan stated that he would often ask for advice from a certain fellow trainee concerning songs he wrote.
He told Teen Vogue, "My neighbor in the next room wad DAY6's Young K, Brian hyung." He revealed that as a trainee, he would sometimes let him listen to the songs he wrote, and Young K would give him feedback.

Bang Chan stated that Young K was very straightforward, which ended up helping him a lot when he was learning to make music.
Bang Chan continued on, telling Teen Vogue, "I am not the kind of person to ask for feedback, but to the people I am close with, I can at least be a little courageous and ask them what they think." The idol expressed gratitude to Young K for being honest and helping him hone his craft.

Bang Chan opened up about his role as the leader during the interview, calling his groupmates "good little demons." He stated that the members of Stray Kids are all nice things, and they listen to what he has to say. In return, Bang Chan listens to what they have to say as well.
He tells the publication, "We communicate a lot. It is all thanks to them that I can be who I am now."
