On February 11, Tao and Xu Yiyang were embroiled in dating rumors after it was discovered that Tao's profile picture in a messaging app was a photo of the two. After much digging, it was found that Xu Yiyang shared a photo of the two on the beach, proving that they went on a vacation together.

While Tao has denied the dating rumors, internet users and Weibo bloggers have unearthed more evidence that the two are dating.

Tao Supported Xu Yiyang on 'Chuang 2020'

In 2020, Xu Yiyang competed in the survival show "Chuang 2020." Despite how Tao was a mentor on the show, the male often took to social media to ask his fans to support Xu Yiyang. The two were also seen having moments together, one-on-one. Tao would often give her advice and console her as she competed.

During the finale, the paparazzi caught Xu Yiyang leaving the venue with Tao and Luhan, showing that their relationship was above the level of co-workers.

Timing of Tao's Posts Concerning Xu Yiyang

On July 6, 2020, at precisely 5:20 AM, Tao announced that he would follow one person on social media — Xu Yiyang. This was a shock to fans, as the idol previously chose not to follow anyone. People also found the timing of the post suspicious, as 520 (5:20) is slang that means "I love you."

On July 25, 2020, Tao shared Xu Yiyang's post at 13:14 PM. The post promoted Xu Yiyang's song that he helped compose and publish. But, again, the timing was considered suspicious, as 1314 (13:14) is slang that means "Forever."

While Xu Yiyang competed on "Chuang 2020," Tao celebrated his birthday. He revealed online that he had three wishes and that his first wish was that Xu Yiyang would see good results on the show.

The final shred of evidence was found on Tao's Instagram. Tao mainly posts photos of himself on this platform, giving fans a glimpse at his private life. This is why many were shocked to find that amid all the pictures of himself, he shared photos of Xu Yiyang. This makes her the only female muse to appear on his account.

It was also noted that in one comment, Tao affectionately called Xu Yiyang "龙蛋," which means dragon egg. Coincidentally, Tao's company, L.Tao Entertainment, also has these characters (龙韬娱乐). Therefore, people believe that this is Tao's way of saying Xu Yiyang is the darling of L.Tao Entertainment.
