ITZY Ryujin Replies to Fan Asking if She's Dating aespa Karina
On March 14, ITZY member Ryujin held a solo live stream through Naver's V Live titled "WAWN." During the nearly one-hour-long live stream, Ryujin communicated with fans in the chat and updated viewers on her daily life.

Ryujin read aloud a comment during the live stream asking if she was dating aespa member Karina. The idol repeated the question, asking, "Dating?"
She then thought back at the two's relationship.

Ryujin tells the viewers, "Well, I do call her honey."
She revealed that she does not call people "honey" often. In fact, she only calls two people in her life that term of endearment — her fellow member Chaeryeong, and aespa's Karina. She also calls Karina by her birth name, Jimin.

She recalled that she and Karina made snow ducks and snow bears together during the winter.

ITZY Ryujin & aespa Karina's Friendship
The two first became friends in June 2021, after ITZY gifted aespa watermelon juice at the 2021 Dream Concert. Since both were artists performing at the event, the two girl groups were able to meet and develop a deep bond.

The friendship between the girl groups continued to blossom. They would often mention each other on social media and live streams.
When aespa won first place on "Show! Music Core," ITZY even celebrated with them on stage despite being nominated against each other!

In December 2021, aespa gifted ITZY sweets and tangerines during the 2021 KBS Gayo Daechukje. There, Yeji and Ryujin (ITZY) snapped a photo with Karina, Giselle, and Winter (aespa). Unfortunately, Ningning, Yuna, and Chaeryeong were not part of the photo as they were busy talking among themselves.
