(G)I-DLE Mentions THIS Famous Line From Soojin, Reason They Decided To Sing It Together
(G)I-DLE talked about how they decided to re-arrange their songs after Soojin left the group. The quintet particularly mentioned THIS iconic line by the former member and revealed why they decided to sing it together.
(G)I-DLE Indirectly Mentions Soojin, Yuqi Gets Emotional
On March 15, girl group (G)I-DLE appeared on 1theK Originals web entertainment, "IDDP."
In the broadcast, the hereinafter five-member group examined fans' reactions to their new album, "I NEVER DIE," written on SNS and online communities.
On the end part of the uploaded video, the group read facts and articles about (G)I-DLE on popular Korean online communities.
While looking at Theqoo, a clip of their performance from Dubai Expo on Jan. 17 appeared with the comment:
"All 5 of them sang the part, 'Who's Afraid?' from 'LATATA'."
It is an indirect mention of Soojin, a former member of (G)I-DLE. In particular, the track was released as the lead track of their debut EP, "I Am" in May 2018.

Upon release, the killing part of Soojin where she sang the line, "Who's Afraid?" became iconic among fans, especially to Neverlands [(G)I-DLE's fandom].
Reading this, the members watched the clip silently when Yuqi said:
"I think I'm going to cry."
Leader Soyeon then revealed the reason they decided to sing the former member's line together, and explained:
"When we re-arranged this part, we thought, 'Ah, we can do this together.' We thought that we can get as much energy (of Soojin) if we will sing this together.
I think it's exactly what we want to say right now. (Who's afraid of something)"
While listening, Yuqi got emotional and added:
"I'm suddenly getting emotional. I don't know what it is but I'm really choking up."
(G)I-DLE Returns With First Full-Length Album 'I NEVER DIE' Following Soojin's Departure
Originally a six-member group, (G)I-DLE re-organized as a five-member group after Soojin left the group due to school violence controversy.
For those who do not know, the female star was embroiled in a school bullying issue in February 2021. The sibling of the alleged victim posted testimonies on online communities.
Cube Entertainment immediately denied the allegations and filed a lawsuit against the accusers. Amid the case, actress and Soojin's alumni Seo Shin Ae appeared, hinting at being a victim of the idol as well. Soojin then left the group in August last year.
In March, she eventually parted ways with agency Cube Entertainment. After, the police investigation stated that the accusers were found "not guilty" of spreading false information.
On March 14, (G)I-DLE officially made a return after hiatus without Soojin with their first studio album, "I NEVER DIE" and lead track, "TOMBOY" as a quintet.
