Lyrics of 'Anthem of Teen Spirit' referencing Kristallnacht

According to fans, EPEX included the phrase "Crystal Night" in the lyrics of the song. To this, fans are alleging that the lyrics was referring to "Kristallnacht," which is also known as the "Night of Broken Glass." Kristallnacht refers to the tragic event in which Jewish people were terrorized and massacred by the Nazis.

Fans Mass Sends Emails to C9 Entertainment Amid 'Anthem of Teen Spirit' Nazi References

Following the several Nazi references made in EPEX's new song "Anthem of Teen Spirit," fans have taken it upon themselves to contact one of the song's songwriters to inform and talk about the Nazi references.

However, the songwriter informed fans that they had only written the original English melodies and lyrics of the song, and that it was ultimately re-written. They then told fans to reach out to the group's label C9 Entertainment instead for anything official.

The songwriter, who is identified to be as Albin Nordqvist, a songwriter and producer who has made songs for several K-Pop groups such as Stray Kids, MONSTA X, Apink, NCT 127, TWICE, and more, also took to his social media to clarify is level of involvement in the song.

On Twitter, Albin Nordqvist said, "Hi Everyone, alot of fans of EPEX are currently reaching out to me regarding the lyrics of their new title track. I'd kindly ask you to reach out to the agency itself. I'm only involved with the original English demo which has been rewritten, not translated."

He continued, "To clarify even further, I have no involvement with the current lyrics or topic. Today is the first day I've heard this version."

Therefore, fans have decided to send a mass email to C9 Entertainment regarding the issue.

Fans have also pointed out that none of the EPEX members are credited in writing "Anthem of Teen Spirit," and that fans should refrain from attacking the members.
