A Parent Shares An Anecdote With Female Idol Who Grants Their Wish for Their Child
On May 10, a post on an online community for parents of university students/incoming exam takers went viral. The parent initially talked about their child who's struggling at school mentally and physically but gained strength thanks to a K-pop idol.
"My child was so worn out, exhausted and is struggling mentally. But there's a female idol that our child likes. Listening to that idol song and looking at her photos cheer my child but still struggling.
I wrote a letter to that singer to convey my thanks but I also want her to help me and asked her if I can have a signature to encourage our child."

The parent went on that they just sent the letter once. Since then, something surprising has happened to the writer. The team leader of the said idol's agency visited them personally and gave the struggling student a signed CD and a handwritten letter, along with the message from the star.
The parent continued:
"The manager told us to stay strong and that they were cheering on us. [They] also told us to give the gift to my child as soon as possible. There was a handwritten letter that seems like it was they put a lot of effort into it and attached were some of her photos as well. It's a miracle, how should I ever repay her?"
Parent Reveals Idol Behind Anecdote Is (G)I-DLE Miyeon, Star Earns Praise
The post was initially uploaded in August last year and the parent opt to not disclose the female idol's identity as well as their child.
On May 9 then, after about nine months, the post was updated and the parent thanked all internet users who left nice comments. The parent also assured that their child is doing well and is getting better.
Also, the parent finally revealed the identity of the female star behind the anecdote!
They wrote:
"She's Miyeon from (G)I-DLE! I read the handwritten letter again last night and I regretted that I brought this up late. That's why I'm posting this because I want to let more people know even if it's late."
As the post circulated online, internet users who saw this responded:
"Miyeon is so warmhearted."
"She has a pretty heart."
"Miyeon is a real angel."
"Most idols will ignore this request, but Miyeon is not one of them."
"She even sent her manager because she's busy."
"They could have sent it in through mail but Miyeon asked her manager to bring it personally."
Meanwhile, Miyeon recently debuted as a solo singer and is actively promoting her new song "Drive."
