Hwasa made headlines on May 16 after sharing photographs of herself wearing transparent full-body tights on Instagram.
The photographs were taken backstage at Frankfurt, Germany's "Kpop.Flex" performance, just before Hwasa performed with her fellow MAMAMOO members.

Hwasa was undoubtedly the center of attention among the MAMAMOO member. Unlike the other girls, who bared their waists, shoulders, and backs, Hwasa wore red see-through tights that covered her whole body.
The body-hugging fashion item enhanced Hwasa's lovely curves and exquisite hip line. Additionally, while the see-through tights covered her entire body, the female idol's gorgeous tanned skin was still visible.

Hwasa also made a dramatic fashion statement by just using two clothespins to secure the hems of her skirt, with no pants or jacket over the tights.

Hwasa is currently a regular cast member on the MBC show "I Live Alone." She has been part of the cast since 2018.
On November 24, 2021, Hwasa released the single album, "Guilty Pleasure," and its lead single, "I'm a B." Hwasa helped write lyics for the song. "I'm a B" features a heavy bass and trendy sound that perfectly compliments Hwasa's inner side.

Following the release of the song, Hwasa swept the top spots of both foreign and domestic music charts. "I'm a B" ranked within the iTunes Top 10 Song Charts in 19 countires and regions. It also topped China's largest music platform, QQ Music.
On July 31, 2021, Hwasa opened her personal YouTube channel, "Hwasa Official." She uploaded her first video on the same day.
