ASTRO Cha Eun Woo Records Highest Income, Profit as Idol & Actor
On Mnet's entertainment show "TMI SHOW," which aired on June 1, the list for "Star Who Made a Big Hit as a Second Character" (another job) was unveiled.

On the same day, Cha Eun Woo was hailed the No. 1 star with the highest income, thanks to his second job as an actor aside from being an idol. MC Boom introduced the idol and said:
"How much profit did Cha Eun Woo make as a second character?
His profit in 2020 is 2.576 billion won (2.1 million USD)! Sales in the first quarter of 2021 alone are about 1.5 billion won (1.2 million USD), accounting for 44% of the company's sales."
"Also, Eun Woo's sales in ASTRO are about 920 million won (740,000 USD)! His total income combined is 6 billion won (about 5 million USD), including his sales from dramas, movies, pictorials, and commercials."
The huge profit was proven to be true due to the fact that the "Candy Pop Sugar" singer was able to purchase a penthouse in Cheongdam-dong with full cash in September 2021. The sale price was a whopping 4.5 billion KRW (3.6 million USD), showcasing his status as a "Young & Rich" star.
K-pop Idols, Stars With Highest Income: Jay Park, IU, Yoo Jae Suk
IU also entered the rankings as fifth. IU's secondary character (job) is a YouTuber with 7.5 million subscribers, with more than 1.4 billion cumulative views on IU's YouTube channel.
IU, who earned the highest income among celebrity YouTube channels, is estimated to have earned about 155 million KRW (1,240 USD) a month and 1.86 billion KRW (1.5 million USD) in annual income. The amount is expected to increase further if advertising fees are added.
The 6th spot went to Jay Park, an artist who transformed himself into a soju businessman. His income alone from his soju business was revealed to be 1.79 billion KRW (1.43 million USD).
Yoo Jae Suk ranked seventh. He is known to have earned about 236 million KRW (1.9k USD) from his variety show alone and as a singer, he earned a total of 1.736 billion KRW (1.4 million USD), which all went into donations.
Beenzino, who owns a clothing business based on a design studio, ranked eighth. His brand's profit is at least 955 million KRW (765k USD). Each of the rapper's releases is a hot and trendy item with a resell price of at least 10 times its original price.
