Yujin, the leader of IVE realized her dream of becoming an idol when she attended a year-end ceremony in Seoul with her friends.

The young idol aspirant then started to send emails to various companies organizing auditions, attaching her singing clips, selfies, etc.

Soon enough, Starship Entertainment was one of the agencies that emailed her back for an invitation to a physical audition.

Incredibly, she didn't have any competitors at that time after the staff told her that only she would be auditioning. After performing, Yujin became a trainee right away in 2016.

2. Jang Wonyoung

At the young age of 12, Jang Wonyoung was already a trainee under Starship Entertainment. In a broadcast aired in 2019, the female idol narrated that she was scouted by her current agency on the street when she attended her older sister's middle school graduation ceremony.

She trained for about a year and a half before joining Mnet's "Produce 48" and debuted in IZ*ONE.

When the group disbanded, later on, Jang Wonyoung was announced to be joining the new girl group by Starship, which is IVE.

3. Rei

Although there is not much detail on how Liz joined Starship, we all know that Liz was a former member of the dance club in her school and was also an athlete before she dropped out of school to debut as IVE.

She was first introduced to the K-pop scene in 2017 after appearing in Girls' Generation Taeyeon's "This Christmas" MV.

5. Gaeul

Initially, Gaeul was scouted by another agency after joining a dance competition in Incheon.

Unfortunately, her parents rejected it for her, although they made a deal with Gaeul that if she is scouted again by an agency during her next competition, they will let her become an idol.

Like fate, Starship Entertainment was the next agency that approached her after a competition, and the rest is history!

6. Leeseo

Last but not least, Leeseo, prior to her debut as a member of IVE, is actually a former SM Entertainment (SM Kids) model. Despite her young age, the group's maknae was lauded for her tall height and mature value.

With her eye-catching appearance, she was only in sixth grade in 2019 when she was scouted by Starship Entertainment while walking on the street around Shinsegae Department Store to buy drinks.

Shortly after, she auditioned for the agency and was accepted to become a trainee.
