BTS RM vs V: Difference Between HYBE's Responses to Dating, Marriage Rumors
On June 24, HYBE labels, home to BTS, drew massive attention from internet users and K-pop fans following BTS RM's marriage rumors.
The entertainment label released a statement and firmly denied the rumors, saying:
"RM’s marriage rumors are not true. We are currently taking immediate action against malicious rumors which started on YouTube."
Undoubtedly, ARMYs (BTS fandom) lauded the label for their quick response to protect the group's leader's reputation against malicious rumors. However, some fans and netizens raised their brows as they compared how HYBE handled dating rumors involving other members, including V, to this incident.

In context, V and BLACKPINK Jennie were involved in a dating rumor after a photo circulated showing a man and a woman inside a car at Jeju.
As soon as the photo circulated on SNS and online communities, web users claimed that the people in the image were actually V and Jennie, then sparking dating allegations.
Some pointed out that the photograph was edited, but the rumors became worse when V was suddenly entangled with Jennie and G-Dragon's past dating speculations as well.
As a response, YG Entertainment soon released their statement, but HYBE remained silent and avoided making an announcement regarding the rumors.
Due to this, netizens are once again intrigued and are making assumptions about HYBE's different actions.
"Since HYBE's Big Hit didn't release a statement about V and Jennie, then I guess it is because it is true."
"So can we say that HYBE will only release their statement when the rumor is false?"
"HYBE is quick to respond when it's a non-dating rumor."

Post Causing Spread of BTS RM's Marriage Rumors Has Been Taken Down
For those still unaware of BTS RM's marriage rumors, everything started in the Korean-American community, Missy USA.
The original author claimed:
"I was contacted by a junior who was seven years younger than me that she will marry RM."
The writer also explained that the junior in question is a financial resource from a prestigious university with a wealthy family. She allegedly met RM at a fan meeting between 2014 and 2015. The two eventually fell in love and began dating.
In particular, the writer attached the mobile messenger conversation with the junior as evidence. Among them, the woman who claimed to marry RM said:
"I can't tell you the exact date, but the other person is a celebrity. It's a sensitive time, so only you unnie should know. He's the leader of a group called BTS."
However, after HYBE's official statement, the post has been permanently deleted.
