(G)I-DLE Yuqi Diet & Workout: Idol's 5 Tips for Weight Loss

Song Yuqi, more commonly known as just Yuqi, rose to prominence after debuting as a member of Cube Entertainment's top girl group, (G)I-DLE, back in May 2018. Since then, she has been promoting as the group's lead dancer, sub rapper, sub vocalist, and face. She is one of the most popular fourth-generation female idols.

Like most female idols in the industry, Yuqi has to maintain a certain weight range during her promotions as an idol. Because of it, Yuqi could pick up some tricks and know-how when losing weight. With that, here are five weight loss tips as shared by Yuqi in her interview for Elle Korea!

1. Avoid salty food and carbs.

Whenever (G)I-DLE makes a comeback, or Yuqi has an important event, she likes to avoid salty food and carbs from her diet as much as possible. This helps the idol slim down her physique, especially as decreasing your intake of salty food can lessen your retention of water weight due to the sodium.

2. Go for nutritious food and drink vitamins.

Sometimes, we can't help but want to pick up a snack. Most people's usual go-to snacks involve junk food. However, Yuqi recommends going for something more nutritious. Whenever she tries to maintain or lose weight, Yuqi always packs stevia tomatoes (sweeter than regular tomatoes), packets of pumpkin juice, and two eggs.

Of course, she also doesn't forget to supplement her diet with some probiotics and vitamins.

3. Don't have time to eat? Go for a smoothie.

When you are as busy as Yuqi, there might be times when you don't have time to sit down for a meal. For such instances, Yuqi likes to blend up a smoothie packed with nutrients and vitamins for when she's on the go.

Yuqi's smoothie usually depends on the ingredients she has lying around in her fridge. Still, she likes to blend stevia tomatoes, broccoli, tangerines, bananas, ginger, and a bit of lemon. She also mixes this with either plain water or coconut water. As for what the smoothie tastes like, Yuqi describes it as "healthy." But it does fill her up whenever she is hungry!

4. Drink tea.

Although this doesn't exactly help with losing weight, Yuqi recommends drinking tea to help alleviate swelling. According to her, fellow (G)I-DLE member Miyeon introduced to her the "fox tea," which is a popular tea in South Korea to help with swelling. Yuqi also likes to drink pumpkin and red bean teas.

5. Keep your workouts fun.

For Yuqi, she tries to hit the gym whenever she can when (G)I-DLE prepares for their comeback. When she is at the gym, Yuqi also likes to focus on one part of her body to work on each day.

For example, she would work on her back one day and then abs the next day. As much as possible, she also tries to do different exercises each day, so she doesn't get bored.
