NewJeans Minji Draws Attention for Resemblance With British Actress Olivia Hussey

Even before the official debut of HYBE/ADOR's upcoming girl group, members were already capturing the hearts of K-pop fans.

Among them, Minji became the center of attention for her visuals when the group finally took off its veil on July 22, with the release of its triple title tracks, "Attention," "Hype Boy" and "Hurt" MVs.

With her profile photos and appearance in the music videos, Minji immediately garnered praises for her features, like her large eyes, sharp nose, and sharp jawline.

People were impressed, saying that her nose, eyes, and long neat straight hair remind them of Olivia Hussey, a British actress famous for playing the role of Juliet in the 1968 Italian movie adaptation of William Shakespeare's hit tragedy play, "Romeo and Juliet."

Some also highlighted that Minji reminded them of the OG visual S.E.S. Eugene, who was termed as "Korean Olivia Hussey."

K-pop fans responded enthusiastically, saying:

• "She looks like Olivia Hussey."
• "She looks classic and trendy."
• "Minji reminds me of SES Eugene."
• "Her side profile is crazy."

Further, people also praised Minji's versatility for being able to look good in any concept - from "pure" to "hip."

NewJeans Minji's Pre-Debut Photos Resurface

As more K-pop fans showed interest in Minji, she also became a hot topic for her pre-debut photos, proving her outstanding charms worthy to be the visual member of the group.

On SNS, Kim Minji's middle school graduation picture was posted. There, her beauty caught the eye of everyone.

Minji was born in 2004. She initially made headlines in the past when she appeared in BTS's "Permission to Dance" music video with co-member Hanni.

Meanwhile, NewJeans, a new girl group of HYBE's independent label ADOR, will release the sound source of its debut album on August 1, while the official album will be released on the 8th.

The five-member group (comprised of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Hyein and Haerin) is the first girl group produced by CEO Min Hee Jin, who gained great popularity by producing album art such as SHINee's "Juliette" and f(x)'s "Pink Tape" by SM Entertainment.

Attention is focused on whether NewJeans will be able to establish themselves as representatives of K-pop's fourth-generation.
