5 K-pop Bands To Follow If You Like Rock Music

As K-pop music reaches more people, other genres like Korean Hip Hop and Korean rock are also getting recognition. Many famous Korean bands have debuted over the years, but there are still many bands who don't get to see much light.

Good thing, MNET has created the show "Great Seoul Invasion" for the public to know more about bands!

In this article, we listed some of the bands from the show that you need to check out!

ONEWE

First on our list is Rainbow Bridge World Entertainment's rock boy band ONEWE. They branded themselves as an alternative rock band. First debuted in 2015 as MAS, they then changed their name in 2019 and re-debut with members Yonghoon, Harin, Kanghyun, Dongmyeong, and CyA.

They have more than 10 songs that you can listen to and get to know the band more. 

They also have different contents on their channel which you can binge-watch as you get to know them better.

MGFF

Macguffin or MGFF is a band formed in November 2016. The four-membered indie rock band released their debut single "Curtain Call" on November 9.

Though they lean more on the softer side of rock music, they definitely still have the 'mmph' factor.

If you like rock but love acoustic versions of rock songs, MGFF is for you. They have released acoustic versions of their songs which are very calming.

Xdinary Heroes

JYP Entertainment's newest boy band, Xdinary Heroes are making headlines as they dominate the rock scene in K-pop.

The band debuted last year of December with the song "Happy Death Day" under JYP's label Studio J. Their name came from Extra Ordinary Heroes which means anybody could be a hero.

Gunil, Jungsu, Gaon, O.de, Jun Han, and Jooyeon have all gone to the variety show MBC Every1 "Weekly Idol". They have also done magazine photoshoots for 1st look magazine in Korea. 

If you like loud types of rock songs, then this Korean band is for you!

South Club

Also known as Nam Tae Hyun's South Club, the band has four members including WINNER's former member Nam Tae Hyun. They debuted on June 27, 2017, under the agency South Buyers Club, with their first album "90".

On November 5, 2019, band vocalist Nam Tae Hyun together with his band members Lee Dongkeun, Kang Minjun, and Jung Hoemin are now under P&B Entertainment, a subsidiary of Soul Shop Entertainment.

Lacuna

Deriving their name from a company in the famous movie "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", lacuna fits the band so well as they release calming rock music that is perfect for rainy days and alone time.

This Korean band recently made headlines in Korea because of their fairytale-like songs. They are also on MNET's "Great Seoul Invasion", but were eliminated recently.
