Numerous artists including BLACKPINK Jennie, SEVENTEEN, IVE, SNSD Taeyeon, and more were hailed as winners for the "2022 Brand of the Year Awards"!

On August 28, the "2022 Brand of the Year Awards" finally unveiled the personalities in the entertainment industry who shined the most this year in their respective fields!

In particular, the "Brand of the Year Awards" is an annual celebration and was held this year by the Korea Economic Daily along with the Korean Consumer Forum and the Korea Consumer Brand Committee.

A public consumer voting was held from July 4 to 17 through an online and telephone survey. About 464,633 consumers participated in the event, which is also held to commemorate the survey's 20th anniversary.

Among numerous K-pop groups that created a massive impact in 2022, (G)I-DLE and SEVENTEEN were selected as the top groups this year.

(G)I-DLE took home the trophy for the "Female Idol" category, while SEVENTEEN received the title for its counterpart. This 2022, both groups elevated their positions in the music scene by creating hit tracks, such as "TOMBOY" and "HOT," respectively.

Among groups who are just cementing their status in the music scene, DKZ and IVE were selected as "Promising Idols" with the greatest potential to become the next-gen top-tier acts.

Also, TEMPEST and VIVIZ were selected as the best rookie groups among those who debuted this year.

Aside from K-pop groups, soloists and K-pop idols also solidified their positions in the entertainment scene as favorite "brands" after winning respective trophies.

Among them, BLACKPINK Jennie secured a daesang and received the award of "Advertising Model of The Year." Also called the "Luxury Idol," this is her third time winning in the survey under the fashion/marketing category.

SHINee Key, who is set to make his comeback with "Gasoline" on the 30th, also flaunted his influence as a 15-year senior idol and received the award for "Male Entertainment" idol.

Girls' Generation Taeyeon also entered the list of winners as the best "female solo singer." In 2022, the female star released multiple tracks that dominated the music charts, such as "INVU" and "Can't Control Myself."
