'MiSaMo' Sub-Unit? ONCEs Speculate TWICE's 'J-Line' Debut Following THIS

On September 7, the possible sub-unit debut of TWICE's "MiSaMo," comprised of Mina, Sana and Momo, became a hot topic online after fans noticed THIS from JYP Entertainment.

In particular, it was belatedly found out by fans that the agency applied for the trademark on the term "MISAMO" on September 5. The application is under classification codes 09 and 14 through agent Aju International Law & Patent Group.

As soon as ONCEs (TWICE fandom) saw this, they immediately presumed that this had something to do with Mina, Sana and Momo, who are popularly known as the group's "J-Line," or "MiSaMo/MiMoSa." 

Although some fans kept their cool and implied that it could be a merch or collaboration item between the Japanese members, others emphasized that the classification codes hint that it could be a possible release related to music.

Some of the fans who left comments said:

• "The classification code 09, said DVD/CD."
• "Is this real? Hope they will promote in Korea."
• "If they are all Japanese, it's most likely that they will promote in Japan. Please have Korean activities as well."
• "I feel like they will be like Orange Caramel."
• "MiSaMo sub-unit? This is surprising but I'm ready for this!"

"MiSaMo" is a moniker given to the Japanese members of TWICE, the amalgamation of the first syllables of Mina, Sana and Momo's names, in order. This nickname was coined by their Japanese fans and later on used by Korean and fans around the world.

Although the sub-unit is not yet confirmed, there are also people showing curiosity and excitement if what kind of concept the three will show given their unique and different vibes from one another.

In particular, Mina is known for her classy and elegant visuals, while Sana exudes adorableness and is full of aegyo. Meanwhile, Momo is known for being a cute yet sexy dance machine.

Despite their contrasting images, fans attest to the natural chemistry and perfect synergy of the three female idols when together, piquing fans' curiosity about what the outcome would be if they release a song.

Nevertheless, it will surely become a huge hit if the speculations are true!

On the other hand, if the sub-unit will truly happen, "MiSaMo" will become the first sub-unit that will debut after the opening of the second act of TWICE following contract renewal with JYP this year.

They will also follow Nayeon who first steps away from the group's activities with her solo debut through a self-titled album and hit track, "POP!"
