Many people found this odd, with some even calling it abnormal. It is unknown what the relationship between the two idols is, and many considered that Baekhyun's account was hacked and compromised by a third party. Many became worried about the safety of Baekhyun's account, with people believing it was compromised.
Speculations on Baekhyun's account being hacked escalated after all the posts on the EXO members' accounts were deleted on September 21. EXO-Ls claimed that Baekhyun is not the type to delete his post recklessly and like female idols' posts, leading people to believe it was not Baekhyun controlling the account.

Several internet users expressed their anger online, saying that all traces of Baekhyun's communication with fans were erased. Many EXO-Ls mourned the loss of Baekhyun's posts.
In addition, many brought up Lee Do Hyun and IVE Jang Wonyoung's past hacking incidents. Others mentioned how a hacker revealed Jennie's "secret relationship" with BTs's V. As the hacker who hacked Lee Do Hyun and Jang Wonyoung threatened to attack other K-pop celebrities, many believed the same hacker resumed his activities and chose Baekhyun as his next target.

However, fans' speculation was incorrect.
According to an exclusive report released by Sports Trend on September 21, SM Entertainment stated Baekhyun was not hacked. Instead, he deleted all his posts of his own will.

The agency dismissed the rumors, saying,
"Baekhyun himself deleted his Instagram posts to reorganize his feed after his military discharge."
Baekhyun enlisted in the military in May 2021 and is currently serving as a social worker. He is expected to be discharged on February 5, 2023. Before his mandatory military enlistment, Baekhyun released his third Korean-language mini-album "Bambi" in March 2021. He also held his first solo concert, "Baekhyun: The Light," in January 2021.
