EXO Xiumin Records Numerous Feats With Solo Debut Album 'Brand New'
EXO Xiumin swept the top of domestic and global charts with his solo debut album, "Brand New"! Just two days after its release, the male idol already recorded numerous records, establishing his status as a solo artist.

It has not been long since Xiumin debuted as a soloist, but he's already showing off his potential to become a global star with his first solo album, "Brand New" released on the 26th!
On September 28, SM Entertainment, the idol's agency, announced that the "Brand New" album ranked #1 on the iTunes Top Album Chart in 33 countries, including Canada, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Fiji, Peru, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Africa, India, Nigeria, Romania, and more on its first day of release.
The album also debuted at #1 on the Worldwide iTunes Top Album Chart and secured the spot for two consecutive days already. On the iTunes US album chart, he peaked at #2, while he sits atop iTunes single chart in 19 countries for Xiumin's title track, "Brand New."
Aside from his digitals, Xiumin's first mini-album also broke records in the domestic chart as he surpassed 100,000 copies sold based on the Hanteo Chart. In addition to this, his first-day sales alone recorded 98,237 sold copies. This is the fastest album by any SM solo artist in 2022 to achieve both of the aforementioned records.
Outside Korea, the title track also topped the real-time surge chart on the Japanese local platform AWA and Synnara Record Daily.
In particular, Xiumin who was reborn as a new star following military enlistment aims to be known as "Xiumin who can stand alone," and create his own genre based on his music preferences through this album.
"Brand New" contains a total of five songs, including the title track with the same name, "Feedback," "How We Do" (Feat. Mark of NCT), "Love Letter" and "Serenity."
In regards to its MV being released simultaneously, it already amassed 4.4 million views, two days after its release.

Following his successful debut as a soloist, Xiumin is now ready to pursue his acting career under his real name Kim Min Seok after he has been cast as the main character of the drama, "Boss-dol Mart."
Kim Min Seok will play the role of Shin Tae Ho, the main dancer of the idol group Thunder Boyz turned cashier at Boram Mart.
His role will portray an interesting person who grows up without any shortcomings, yet shows deep and natural physical strength and excellent work-handling skills amid the journey of five youth at a crossroads between dreams and reality.
"Boss-dol Mart" is directed by Lee Yoo Yeon and penned by Jang Kyung Rim) which depicts the story of an idol group who had to disband due to an unexpected accident. With the sudden turn of events, they will find themselves running a failing mart and chaotic happenings between five youths will unfold cheerfully.
Following the announcement, Xiumin conveyed his message to fans who have been waiting for him and said:
"I'm excited to see my fans as an actor after a long time. It is also reassuring to work with good directors, writers, and great actors. I will try to repay the support and love given by the fans with good works."
