MMA 2022 History And Charts

The Melon Music Awards, which were first held online in 2005, have been selecting winners every year after reflecting Melon's usage data, member votes, and expert judgment.

After expanding offline in 2009, it was held simultaneously on and offline until 2019. But for the past two years, it was only held offline to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Melon has done many things to better its platform and has upgraded its charts to let more indie artists get popular. They made the "Track Zero" chart for people to discover new artists.

As for the awarding itself, Melon has proven that they look at the numbers and statistics before giving out an award. Their theme "DATA HUB" is about the listening data of five million paid subscriptions.

Their "Data Lab," which will be revealed next month, will show the achievements of every artist on record. They also have "MY RECORD" a data gathered where the listener will see their music taste from the beginning of the year.
