Seo Youkyung made her debut as a member of AOA in August 2012. She was also part of the group's band unit, where she was the drummer. She was considered "half-angel" since she didn't participate in activities of the dance unit.

Before debuting under FNC Entertainment, Youkyung started her career in 2010 as a member of Sponge Band under the stage name Gaon. She had a rap part in their debut song titled "Can't Hear You."

According to this site, Youkyung didn't have any vocal lines during her time in AOA (probably because she was the drummer). It is also said that she didn't appear in the group's single or mini-album cover.

Her last music release as an AOA member is "Moya," the debut single album of the group's first subunit AOA Black that Came out in July 2013. Even though "Moya" became her last project, Youkyung was still part of the group until 2016.
Why Did Youkyung Leave AOA and FNC Entertainment?
In October 2016, FNC Entertainment announced on AOA's official fan cafe that Seo Youkyung is no longer with the company. They explained that after an in-depth discussion, they decided to end their exclusive contract with the female idol in respect to her opinion.

The label also revealed at that time that although her contract has ended, she will continue to take part in AOA band projects as a guest member. Since all members have departed, it is assumed that AOA Black has disbanded.

After leaving AOA and FNC Entertainment, Seo Youkyung continued her studies as a Practical Music Major at Yewon Arts University. She officially graduated in 2018. Then, in May 2018, she started teaching playing the drums to aspiring drummers. She has been playing the drums since she was in seventh grade, hence, it's no wonder she wanted to pursue a career related to that instrument.

But where is former AOA Youkyung now? Well, she is currently a musician and a member of a co-ed band called Y&Z Project, which she formed with Zune Drummer. Y&Z Project debuted on June 1, 2020 with the single album "BOOT THE SYSTEM."

She also made her solo debut on Oct. 19, 2020 with the mini-album "CONNECT." The EP features three songs including the title track "Universe."
